This personal practice retreat, Manifesting a Compassionate Life, draws on the work of Professor Paul Gilbert, founder of Compassion Focused Therapy and Compassion Mind Training that focus on cultivating a compassionate mind.
From the retreat’s opening on the Friday evening, to its close on the Sunday afternoon, we will be learning, experiencing, practicing and embodying the skills and qualities of the compassionate mind, building a sense of a compassionate self-identity, and setting personal goals for ongoing compassionate engagement and action in our daily lives. In this retreat, we will develop our potential for a compassionate mind through personal practice. In the cultivation of the compassionate self, we will draw from a synthesis of Western therapeutic and Eastern wisdom traditions, and will integrate mindfulness into the practice of compassion.
